Marta Timmer (Blicharz) is a multidisciplinary visual artist working in traditional and digital media, including painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, collage, installation and many more. Some of the general themes that appear in her work deal with consumer culture, glitch aesthetic, dystopian future, personal identity, subconscious drives and the search for the sublime. Marta’s art heroes include H. R. Giger, Zbigniew Beksiński, Tim Burton, and Banksy to name a few.
Currently, Marta takes on all things creative at Wild Forest, and teaches New Media at the University of Lethbridge Calgary Campus.
Marta has exhibited and presented locally and internationally, in solo and group contexts including in Toronto, Calgary, Lethbridge, Vancouver and Chicago. She is currently represented by DaDe Art & Design Lab in Calgary, Alberta.
